Ayebi-Awuah Receives Peer Mentor of the Year Award
Storrs, Conn. - Kwaku Ayebi-Awuah, a recent graduate of University of Connecticut and current Research Assistant with PARTNRS, received the Student Support Services (SSS) Peer Mentor of the Year Award from his alma mater. This award recognizes the peer advisor who has excelled in his/her role in assisting high-potential freshmen who come from underrepresented ethnic or economic backgrounds and/or are first-generation college students in their transition to university life.
Nominations for this award come directly from advisees. One of Kwaku’s advisees reported "Kwaku has gone above and beyond when it comes to being an advisor. He made himself available 24/7 and let me know that he was there for me for anything, whether it is advice on academics or relationships."
Kwaku is a graduate of the Student Support Services Peer Education program and dedicated himself to giving back to the program as a Peer Advisor during his remaining time at UConn.
Kwaku will be recognized on September 20th at 4pm at the SSS Academic Excellence Award reception at the University of Connecticut.
